The Story
As part of an initiative to access new technology, Mesa began exploring opportunities with leading electric companies. Aimed at making air travel both environmentally friendly and economical, we began investigating revolutionary new concepts outside of the traditional airline model. Based in Palo Alto, California, Archer Aviation is the leader in developing eco-friendly air mobility vehicles. Led by visionary CEOs, Brett Adcock and Adam Goldstein, Archer’s entrepreneurial spirit is reminiscent of Mesa founders Larry and Janie Risley. It quickly became apparent that a relationship between Archer and Mesa would benefit both companies. With the addition of United, Archer now has the operational and marketing support from both a regional operator and one of the world’s leading airlines. The agreement between Archer, United, and Mesa will be a formidable force in the advancement of environmentally sustainable short-haul air mobility.
About Archer
Co-CEOs Brett Adcock and Adam Goldstein created Archer Aviation in the heart of Silicon Valley. Their team is designing and manufacturing an advanced electric aircraft. Using today’s technology, it has the potential to travel 60 miles at a speed of 150 miles per hour and is part of a new class of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. eVTOL technology permits these aircraft to quietly operate in an urban environment, significantly expanding the market for “air-taxi” connectivity, while at the same time greatly reducing carbon emissions associated with traditional transportation options.
